The walking tour continues with a discovery of Florence's political center in Piazza della Signoria where you will learn about the history of Palazzo Vecchio. You'll continue walking along the Arno River and then crossing it to Palazzo Pitti, the Medici family's best-known residence. Guided tour itinerary
This walking tour of the historic center of Florence lasts about 3 hours. The tour can be customized to meet specific visitor requests. The tour usually includes a first section at the Santa Maria del Fiore complex, better known as the Duomo, which includes the Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Baptistery, and includes a tour inside the Duomo (if the entrance isn't too crowded. Entrance cannot be booked and the wait to enter may be long).
The tour continues to Piazza della Signoria where you can admire Palazzo Vecchio and the statues in the square and Loggia dei Lanzi. We cross the Piazzale degli Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio and end the tour at Piazza Pitti, where we can appreciate the Medici's magnificent summer residence.
Upon request, the tour route can be changed, either extending the tour length or changing the monuments to be seen – Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the Chapel of the Magi by Benozzo Gozzoli... the options are endless.
