This is a chance not to let slip away! This is an after-sundown tour of the treasures kept within the Vatican. Tour the Vatican Museums during the special evening opening.
Spring to October, the Vatican Museums open their doors to visitors on Friday evening. This extraordinary event is a chance to enjoy the beauty of the Vatican Museums under the light of the stars. The Vatican buildings take on a special appearance, skillfully lit in an interplay of artificial light and those glittering in the sky over Rome at night.
For the 2019 season, evening openings are available starting April 26.

Full ticket price: €26.00 per person

Reduced ticket €17.00

Hours: Friday evening, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Last admission at 9:00 pm. 
Entrance can be booked every 30 minutes.

The ticket price includes an online booking fee of €5.00 per ticket.
Booking this ticket entitles you to admission with reserved (skip-the-line) access and to enter all the open sections of the Vatican museums, including the Sistine Chapel.

CANCELLATION POLICY – PLEASE NOTE: tickets booked for the Vatican Museums are NOT refundable in any way, not even partially.

Metro line A, Cipro/Musei Vaticani stop

Visitors may stay inside the museums until closing time. The reservation does not include guide service. You can rent an audio guide at the desk inside the Museums after the turnstiles.
The ticket booking does not exempt visitors from going through security checks at the entrance.

Reduced tickets to the Museums and Vatican Gardens
* Reduced: Youth from 6 to under 18; students under 26, presenting an International Student Card or a university card on the day of the tour.

Buying a reduced ticket without the necessary qualifications or failing to present a valid student identity card will require you to buy another entrance full ticket. The reduced ticket will not be refunded.
* No ticket is required for children under 6, journalists with press cards, and ICOM members.

What you'll see
The sections normally open in the day, including the Sistine Chapel, can now be toured on Friday evenings during special openings.
Specifically: the Pius-Clementine Museum, the Egyptian Museum, the Upper Galleries (Candelabra, Tapestries, and Maps), the Raphael Rooms, some rooms of the Borgia Apartment, the collection of modern religious art, the Sistine Chapel, and the Library Galleries.
There is no extra charge for admission, and the tour follows the same procedures as at regular times
Some concert dates are also scheduled in the Vatican Museums' courtyards, which you can attend without any extra charge and without reservations.

Why visit the Vatican Museums by evening
Visitors who choose to make their tour of the Vatican Museums later in the day, taking advantage of their special Friday evening opening, enjoy many advantages.
The Museums are less crowded, so you can more peacefully appreciate the exhibition works. The corridors are noticeably less crowded, and services are more convenient and smoother to access.
Warm summer temperatures often cause fatigue and discomfort on the museums' long route. Many rooms have no air conditioning due to requirements for conserving the works. After sunset, you can take advance of lower temperatures and less humidity to manage your tour.
By evening, the atmosphere at the Vatican Museums is truly unique with the play of light created for the purpose, enveloping the Vatican's grand buildings and courtyards. Visitors who have been to the Vatican Museums only in the light of day should come see them in this special situation.

Entrance to the museums is allowed only to visitors who are appropriately dressed.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
