On this guided tour of Baroque Rome, we'll show you a new face of the city. Taking a step back from Rome's imperial aspect, an expert guide will share with you the beauty of the Baroque era. The tour starts from Piazza Navona, the most elegant square in Rome. The square was built on the remnants of the Stadium of Domitian, and today it is a gathering spot for hundreds of Romans and tourists daily. The square is famed for the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi – Fountain of the Four Rivers – designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Many curious stories revolve around this fountain. The guided tour continues to the Pantheon, the temple of the gods built by Emperor Hadrian. Depending on its opening hours, the tour includes entry to the Pantheon, which requires no admission ticket. The Pantheon is astounding for its unique structure and atmospheric feel. The pronaos comes before its circular interior and the dome's oculus, the only source of light.
Leaving Piazza della Rotonda, where the Pantheon is located, your guide will take you to Trevi Fountain. Rome's most famous fountain, an emblem of the city, bolstered by its appearance on the big screen. The tour ends at the Spanish Steps. The steps to the church of Trinità dei Monti , known as the Spanish Steps, are the square's most dramatic feature. At their feet is Pietro and Gian Lorenzo Bernini's Fontana della Barcaccia which has a fascinating uncommon history. The Spanish Steps are among Rome's iconic, must-see sites.
