Trajan's Market is a majestic Roman-era architectural complex along the Via dei Fori Imperiali (the Roman Forum), the city's most important archaeological area. Just a short ways from the Colosseum, you can visit Trajan's Market, which is the oldest extant shopping center in the world. The vast architectural complex covers several levels. You can tour its interiors and walk along its long corridors, where you can see the ancient shops and offices of Imperial Rome.
The tour of Trajan's Market also gives you the chance to peer out the windows of the top floor of the market to appreciate an exceptional view of the architectural area of the Roman Forum, and all of Rome.
The Museum of the Imperial Forum is on the first floor. Its exhibition rooms hold the most important discoveries found in the Forum and all the reconstructions of the Imperial Forum. These reconstructions let visitors see how the Imperial Forum actually looked in antiquity, and what its real, extremely important purpose was.
Hours: 9:30 am – 7:30 pm.
The ticket is a day ticket. You can use this entrance ticket any time on the chosen day. The ticket office closes at 6:30 pm.
Open days: Every day except January 1, May 1, and December 25. On December 24 and 31, last entrance is at 12:30 pm.
Full ticket price: €15.50 per person
The ticket price includes an online booking fee of €3.00 per ticket. The price may increase during temporary exhibitions.
Children: Children under 6 are free of charge and require no reservation.
Disabled visitors: Not recommended for those with limited mobility due to the type of architecture. Book your free ticket.

PLEASE NOTE – Once booked, tickets to Trajan's market cannot be canceled or changed for any reason. You will not be entitled to any refund if the tickets are not used.
Free tickets: Disabled visitors and their companions; European Union tourist guides; tour interpreters of the European Union; ICOMOS, ICOM, and ICCROM members and members of foreign and national cultural institutes, such as the Accademia dei Lincei, Istituto Studi Romani, and Amici dei Musei di Roma.
